Overview

The AD, Real World Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in our Real-World Data (RWD) and Analytics team. Reporting to the Executive Director this role collaborates closely with stakeholders across the organization to implement our strategic vision for the RWD pipeline and insights generations. The primary responsibilities include ensuring data governance, integrity, and security across the RWD platform, analyzing complex datasets to derive actionable insights, and championing the use of AI and machine learning techniques for enhanced data analysis.

The AD, RWD Analyst supports the development and enhancement of our global RWD data platform, meeting stakeholder needs and adhering to data security standards. Additionally, it evaluates data quality from various sources to support licensing opportunities, establishes and enforces best data analyses practices in compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintains an analytical library to ensure consistency in analytic approaches across different RWD sources.

In this role, the AD, RWD Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the contents on the dashboards for internal stakeholders, collaborate closely with teams such as business development, clinical operations, Medical Affairs, Healthcare Value and Access, and RWE to understand evidence needs and provide solutions, and stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in healthcare RWD analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and enhancement of a global RWD data platform that meets stakeholder needs as well as data governance, integrity, and security standards.
  • Implement the strategic vision for the RWD pipeline to align with overall business objectives.
  • Evaluate data quality and relevance from various RWD sources to support licensing opportunities.
  • Analyze complex datasets to derive actionable insights for internal RWD dashboard, facilitate internal stakeholders’ understanding and utilization of insights to support business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain the contents on RWD insights dashboard to visualize data for internal stakeholders, facilitating understanding and utilization of insights.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data processing, analysis, and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain an analytical library to ensure consistent analytic approaches across different RWD sources.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., business development, clinical operations, Medical Affairs, Healthcare Value and Access, RWE, and others) to understand evidence needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to internal RWD analysts to foster a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Provide guidance to external analysts to ensure deliverables are consistent and compliant with RWE study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and case report forms.
  • Educate internal stakeholders on the effective use of available data assets for evidence generation and decision-making.
  • Champion the use of AI and machine learning techniques by driving innovative projects with advanced technologies in analyzing the healthcare RWDs.
  • Support the maintenance of internal data catalogs, Educate internal stakeholders on the effective use of available data assets, and preparation of RWE study protocols and statistical analysis plans.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to RWD projects, ensuring delivery within acceptable risk parameters.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as biostatistics, epidemiology or a related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree or 5 years with a PhD in analyzing real-world data to generate insights or support RWE publications within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Proficiency in data processing and analytical environment or tools such as Snowflake, SAS Viya, Excel, python, Spotfire, etc. Expert knowledge of SQL is required. Knowledge of machining learning and AI tools for analyzing large dataset is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze different type of real-world healthcare data and identify areas for improvement is crucial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary to ensure the effective management of data analyses processes.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders, presenting technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Data engineering knowledge or experience a plus!

  • Proficient at executing RWD analytical projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timely delivering high-impact results that support business objectives.
  • Proficiency in managing complex projects from inception to completion, including planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to stay informed about the latest advancements in data processes and analytics and translating innovative ideas into practical solutions that enhance data analyses capabilities.
  • Capability to identify challenges in data analysis processes, develop creative solutions, and implement effective resolutions to enhance project outcomes.
  • Skill in implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards in data analyses and reporting.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining strong relationships with varying stakeholders, effectively advocating for the RWD & analytics function within the organization, and clearly communicating the proper use of RWD assess to stakeholders.
  • Skilled in mentoring a team of data analysts, providing guidance and support, and ensuring the adoption of best practices in data analyses and reporting.
  • Ability to represent the RWD & Analytics in various meetings and strategic discussions, establishing trust and credibility with stakeholders through transparency and reliability.
  • Awareness of ethical considerations related to data handling and analysis, ensuring that all practices adhere to ethical guidelines and protect patient confidentiality.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in data science methodologies, staying updated with advancements in healthcare RWD analytics and implementing best practices.

 

Other Requirements

  • This position has some managerial and decision-making authority.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 5% of the year both domestically and internationally
  • Must live a commutable distance to our US Corporate Headquarters in Florham Park, NJ. Office presence required at least 50% of the time per month

Essential Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Ability to articulate clearly and conduct verbal presentations with large and small audiences.
  • Ability to travel via automobile and/or airplane.
  • Ability to view video display terminal images < 18” away from face for extended period of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time – up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds.
