Overview

The Medical Information Associate (Contractor) will be responsible for internal contact center responsibilities, including case intake, delivery of verbal and written responses to HCP and consumer requests for information on Shionogi products, and accurate documentation in Medical Information database. Additionally, this role will be responsible for capturing and reporting adverse events and product complaints in accordance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Internal contact center intake, data entry of medical information cases, and accurate identification and triage of adverse events and product complaints.
  • Respond verbally or in writing to unsolicited requests for medical information from healthcare professionals, consumers, and other external customers received via the contact center, email/website, and other communication channels.
  • Provide and disseminate accurate, balanced, and timely medical information responses in accordance with Shionogi SOPs, work instructions/processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct literature searches and evaluate/interpret the medical literature for relevant scientific data to respond to medical information requests.
  • Assist with development of Medical Information response documents for all Shionogi Inc. products as needed.
  • Assist Medical Information team with projects as assigned.

 

Minimum Job Requirements 

 

  • Advanced scientific degree (such as PharmD, PhD, MD, RN or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Strong scientific background with a deep understanding of medical and clinical concepts.
  • 1-2 years of call-center and/or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Capable of recognizing, capturing, and reporting adverse events and product quality complaints in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Must live a commutable distance to our US Corporate Headquarters in Florham Park, NJ. Office presence required 50% per month, at least 2- 3 days per week.

 

Preferred Skills & Experience 

 

  • Medical Information experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, and work independently to meet established deadlines.
  • Demonstrates ability to independently identify problems and suggest effective solutions.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to the pharmaceutical industry and dissemination of medical information.
  • Highly proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office software platforms (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred experience using a document management system with aptitude to learn other computer systems including inquiry handling databases.

Additional Information

The hourly rate for this position is $40-57. Individual pay is determined by several factors, which include but are not limited to: job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range does not include the comprehensive benefits, bonus, long-term incentive, applicable allowances, or any additional compensation that may be associated with this role.
