Overview

The Payroll Analyst helps to support accurate and compliant multi‑state payroll processing and will play a key role in new hire payroll activities such as reviewing new‑hire entries, verifying tax and direct‑deposit setups, answering new hire questions as well as other payroll activities.

Responsibilities

New Hire Payroll Support

  • Review New hires entries and PAF information including:
    • Start date and pay group
    • Exempt and nonexempt status
    • Workers compensation codes
    • PTO plan set up and additional payments
    • Verify Social Security number and name on the Social Security Administration Business Services online
  • Review the address and the work location of the new hires, determine the state for the income tax withholding and local and occupational taxes if applicable.
  • Assist in setting up the new registration of tax jurisdictions with UKG and DayForce for tax filing.

Systems and Data

  • Assist with the PTO processing in UKG and reviewing timesheets for Non-Exempt employees in Asure Time and Attendance.
  • Supports with the review of the Precheck payroll reports.
  • Supports preparing reports (both ad-hoc and routine) utilizing the UKG and Business Intelligence (Cognos) reporting tool.

Additional Payroll Support

  • Using Outlook, Microsoft Teams and through in-person communication, assist employees in resolving payroll-related inquiries and issues in a timely manner, including New Hires.
  • Assist in research and resolving payroll tax notices.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as required or as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or some college credits preferred.
  • FPC certification and/or 1-2 years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, Finance or working with taxes required.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to apply logical reasoning to identify problems and interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office suite, including the ability to use Excel for data review, Pivot tables, filters and lookups.
  • Prior experience using a financial system, payroll, or Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to support activities such as payroll processing, employee data maintenance, or finance and accounting tasks.

 

  • Ability to research payroll tax requirements and available resources
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality regarding payroll and HR records.
  • Must live a commutable distance to our US Corporate Headquarters in Florham Park, NJ. Office presence required at least 2-3 days per week.

Additional Information

The hourly rate position is $31 - $54. Individual pay is determined by several factors, which include but are not limited to: job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range does not include the comprehensive benefits, bonus, long-term incentive, applicable allowances, or any additional compensation that may be associated with this role.
